Mt. Kanchenjunga, the third highest peak in the world is located in the eastern part of Nepal is one of the most beautiful snow-capped mountain massifs in the world. Mount Kanchenjunga can be best for the people who love privacy; you can experience remote Nepali cultures, food, and lifestyle in its traditional form, and mixed ethnics group during the trek.

Itinery Detail

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in the evening, you are supposed to complete all the customs formalities and meet our representative outside who will be welcoming you in our traditional way with a flower garland. The representative then will be transferred you to the hotel where we provide you delightful welcome dinner.


Day 2: Sight visit in Kathmandu.

After breakfast, we will be visiting the World Heritage Sites: Pashupatinath Temple, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, and Boudhanath. At the evening we meet our entire trekking team and our guides for the preparation of the trip.


Day 3: Fight to Biratnagar and drive to Basantapur 

Early morning, we take a stunning flight to Biratnagar located in Morang district along with all the crew members. After the landing, we drive to Basantapur located in Sunsari district.


Day 4: Trek to Guphapokhari

After a day on Basantapur, we head towards Guphapokhari (2890m), the natural pond that has religious significance. It’s the central place for three famous cities: Sankhuwasaba, Taplejung, Patcher. During the trek you we can observe beautiful views of MakaluKanchenjunga, and Everest that would offer lifelong memories to you.


Day 5: Trek to Dobhan

From Guphapokhari we head to Dobhan. It is a long day trek passing Sherpa village but it is all downhill to the riverside village of Dhoban located at the junction of two rivers the Maihwakhola and the Tamurkoshi.

Day 6: Trek to Mitlung

After a night at Dobhan, we start trek to Mitlung (890m). We will walk along the river and in the rain forest with a rich bird life, creating a really great character for the section. The deep valley and heavy monsoon rains make the road wet and widened.

Day 7: Trek to Chirwa

We continue our trek from Mitlung through the section of dense subtropical forest and through the narrow valley with the local villages above to Chirwa. We can also observe the traditions of Limbu ethnicity during the trek.

Day 8: Trek to Sekathum

Trekking through the village of Tapothok, we walk towards the Taimor River and come to the Simu Khil, which has emerged from Yang Glacier. Then we reached Sekathum through the steep and narrow GhunsaKhola valley.

Day 9: Trek to Amjilosa (2303m)

Walking along with the flow of the Ghunsa River, we head to Amjilosa through the uphill and stone steps that lead to the waterfall. After many bridges and wonderful scenarios in the Ghunsa River, we reach the Amjilosa Tibetan settlement.

Day 10: Trek to Kyapar/ Gyabla

After spending the night at Amjilosa we head to Khapar/ Gyabla though the dense forest having great habitats like Rhododendron, the forest of bamboo, gnarled brown oaks and stunning waterfalls.

Day 11: Trek to Ghunsa (3595m)

We head towards Ghunsa through wide pasture land. We climb a small hill and the valley widens and improves path through the fields and we cross the river to reach the Tibetan village of Ghunsa with wooden houses.

Day 12: Rest day

After walking for days it’s important for the body to have rest to avoid any kind of illness and tiredness so that further trip could be successfully done.


Day 13: Trek to Khambuchen ( 4780m) 6hrs

After keeping our body at rest for a day now we are completely ready to continue our trek. Walking 5-6 hrs, we reach khambachen along the river bank which presents us magnificent mountain scenery.


Day 14: Trek to Lhonak (3473m)

Leaving behind Khambachen, we follow the trail on the left side of the Kanchenjunga Glacier. We climb along a high plateau to reach the Lhonak camp. From Lhonak, we can see the panorama of huge mountain peaks such as Wegde Peak, Mera Peak, Nepal Peakand many more.

Day 15: Trek to Pangpema Base Camp (5143m) 6 hrs

In this day we head toward Pangpema Base Camp through the trail along the glaciers on the northern hill, where we get a stunning view of Mount Kanchenjunga (8586 m) with the horizon filled with snow-capped mountains bordering Nepal-India and Nepal -Tibet.

Day 16: Trek back to Ghunsa (3595m) 5-6 hrs

After the great experience in the Pangpema base camp, we return to Ghunsa enjoying the sculpture view of the mountains. We take back the same route that we took when we were climbing up.

Day 17:  Trek to Lumba Sumba Kharka (4290m) 4hrs

We head towards Lumba Sumba Kharka at a height of 5,177 meters above sea level through the thick forest of birch, pine and rhododendron possibly covered with snow. We also get the chance to see snow animals like red panda, snow leopard, etc.

Day 18: Trek to Lopsang and back to Ramche (4880m) 5 hrs

Trekking through the challenging rocky path, we reach Lopsang. Passing the moraines of Yalung Glacier into an ablation valley, we get back towards the Ramche for overnight stay.

Day 19: Trek to Otlang

We trek towards the otlang passing different glacial moraines, from where we can get a panoramic view of Jannu (7720m) and Kanchenjunga (8586m), and several other peaks.

Day 20: Trek to Tortong (3870m)

After spending the night at Otlang we head towards tortong through the easy trail along Simbuakhola. We can also observe the varieties of pine and rhododendron forest during the trek.

Day 21: Trek to Yamphudim (2080m)

We climb through some steep and unexplored slopes after entering the forest again. We pass through Lamite Bhanjyang (3410m) and Amji Khola up to a pass at Dhupi Bhanjyang (2540m). Yamphudin is a mixed community of Sherpas, Limbus, Rais and Gurungs and the first real village since Ghunsa.

Day 22: Trek to Mamanke (1785m) 5 hrs

We continue to trek to Mamanke from Yamphudim in this day. We pass through the beautiful villages of Brahmin and Chhetri during the trek.

Day 23: Trek to Khebang (khesuwa) 2120m

We pass through different valleys, waterfalls, forests and several suspension bridges over the several streams to the trek to Khebang from Mamanke.

Day 24: Trek to Lalikharka (2265

Today after breakfast in the morning, from Khebang we will head towards Lalikharka. We will have overnight at lalikharka.

Day 25: Trek to Suketar (1785m)

From Lalikharka we return back to Suketar. We will explore around the village and interact with the people nad enjoy the rest of the day.

Day 26: Fly to Biratnagar & back to ktm

After reaching the Sutkar we take the short but stunning flight to Biratnagar. And after reaching Biratnagar we fly towards Kathmandu on this same day.

Day 27: Fly back home country or rest

We drop you at the Tribhuvan International Airport for your final departure with a hope of seeing you again. If you have more time left you can enjoy the sightseeing at Kathmandu, can have more shopping and enjoy the different authentic foods at a restaurant nearby.
